Oasis Golf Club in Loveland – Heritage Golf Group’s Foray into Ohio

When Arnold Palmer says,  “I don’t think you will ever see three holes better than the last three here,” you know you’re onto something. And, if you’re a golfer, you’ll want to check it out for yourself. Welcome to the Oasis Golf Club in Loveland, Ohio!

Arnie made this comment shortly after playing the inaugural round at the Club in 1998.

The championship Arnold Palmer-designed golf course at The Oasis Golf Club is a links-style, par 72 layout. With five sets of tees on each hole plus two hybrid yardages, there’s a suitable distance for every golfer. The course plays 6,921 yards from the Back Tees, while the Forward Tee offers juniors and beginners an enjoyable challenge at 5,132 yards. I found that the Green Tees at 6,082 yards offered a suitable challenge and still let us leave with our dignity intact!

In addition to an awesome golf course, Oasis has some impressive practice facilities. You can hit every club in your bag on the full-length driving range, practice chips and bunker shots in the short game area, and groove your putting stroke on the large practice green.

Well-groomed Bentgrass fairways offer ample landing areas off the tee and lead to well-undulated Bentgrass greens, many are long and narrow, a trademark of Arnold Palmer. Don’t stray too far off any fairway, or you’ll face the punishment of the heather grass, which can be very penal. In addition to the heather, you’ll encounter 53 bunkers and six lakes, including a 17-acre lake surrounding the final three holes, often called Arnie’s Revenge. They are the highlight of any round!

Arnie’s Revenge starts with a long par 3 that plays 177 yards from the Green Tees. It’s all carry across Mueller Lake into a peninsular green. There’s a bailout area to the right, although you’ll still have to deal with the lake on your second shot. Par is a great way to get your revenge on Arnie’s Revenge.

The 17th hole is a 344-yard par 4 that requires a daunting tee shot. You must hit it over three fairway bunkers and down the left side near the water. That’s the easy part! Your second shot plays across Mueller Lake again into a long, narrow green that hugs the coastline. Two bunkers over the green catch most approaches that sail long. I was lucky enough to stick my approach within 12 inches for a kick-in birdie!

My luck was not as good on the 430-yard, par 4, 18th hole (I’ve played shorter par 5s.) It’s unanimously the toughest hole of the course. It’s a slight dogleg left with water down the left side of the entire hole and not a lot of room to the right. The good news is the landing area off the tee is huge, but things get a lot tougher from here on in. Your best drive is still going to leave a very long approach shot into another long, narrow green with the lake to the left and behind it. There’s also a large bunker on the right. A par – or better – should bring a smile to your face. It’s a fitting end to a fun and very challenging round of golf.

The Oasis Golf Club is a great place to host a corporate or team building event. In addition to the championship golf course there’s a  30,000 square foot event center that can accommodate up to 2,000 people.

The Oasis Golf Club was recently purchased by Heritage Golf Group, owners of over 40 private club properties around the country. Oasis Golf Club is Heritage’s first club in Ohio, and the company is well-known for injecting capital into every property they purchase to enhance the member experience.

If hunger gets the best of you before your round or you want to cash in on those birdies you made, Arnie’s Grill has got you covered! It’s a great place to get away from it all, relax, and unwind with friends. You can choose to dine outside and watch other groups finish their rounds.

Country club pools bring families together, and The Oasis Golf Club offers a Junior Olympic-size heated pool where adults can swim laps or do water aerobics, and a kiddie pool for the little ones. With certified lifeguards always on duty, there’s no need to worry about your child’s safety. Relax with the family and enjoy a bite to eat or indulge in an adult beverage from the Palm Cafe.

A lot country clubs are known for throwing lavishly themed parties around holidays throughout the year. Some of the more traditional ones at the Oasis Golf Club are Easter Brunch, Mother’s Day Brunch, and a Memorial Day Pool Party. There are also wine-themed dinner parties, outdoor movie nights, pumpkin carving, and brunch with Santa for those who believe.

Many golfers who have the opportunity to play the golf course are so enthralled with the property that they become members. The Oasis Club offers several membership categories that will meet everyone’s needs and budget. Choose from a Full Family Golf Membership, Senior Golf Membership, or Young Professional Membership that gives the entire family, adults under 36, and seniors over 70 total access to the golf course and all club amenities. Social and Corporate  Memberships are also available. Join now and become part of the active and vibrant Golf Club lifestyle.

One option that is available to all members at any Heritage Golf Group property is a Heritage Plus Membership. It’s one of the most flexible memberships in the industry and opens the door to an ever-growing private club network of Heritage Golf properties. Heritage Plus Members have the opportunity to travel and play at any Heritage property; it’s perfect for those who like to travel. Heritage has taken it one step further and partnered with Ship Sticks to get your gear there safe, sound, and hassle-free. The Golfin’ Guy aka David (or Dave, but never Davey) Theoret grew up in Southwestern Ontario, Canada, where it was naturally assumed he would play hockey. Beginning at the age of 3 and continuing into his late 30's, he did just that. However, after one too many pucks to the head, he realized that golf was a lot easier on the body and took the game up. Whoever said hockey players were slow? Since that time, golf has become his passion – just ask Belinda. From 2003 until 2009, David ran the sales and marketing department of TravelGolf Media and took his team to over $1M in annual advertising revenue. While at TravelGolf, an editor told him he had a flair for writing and the lightbulb came on. He started writing articles about anything golf related: courses, destinations, resorts, shoes, apparel, equipment and training aids and sending them to websites and magazines. At first, his articles were picked up by a few golf websites and magazines, but the number steadily grew – enough that he could call it a career. Most days he’s on a course somewhere, either working or playing. Actually, to him playing IS work. Occasionally you’ll find him on the practice range reinforcing bad habits. David plays to a 12 handicap - unless there is money involved in which case it goes considerably higher. He currently resides in Lakeland, FL with his wife Belinda and their two "kids", Louie and Molly.
