Oakwood Country Club in Coal Valley

Quad Cities, IL/IA (April 27, 2026) – Visit Quad Cities will host the 2026 NJCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championship, bringing the prestigious collegiate championship to the region. This will be the first time that the NJCAA has hosted a Division I championship in the Quad Cities. The championship will take place May 11-14, 2026, at Oakwood Country Club in Coal Valley, a course known for hosting PGA Tour events from 1975 to 1999. The tournament will feature four rounds of competitive stroke play, crowning both team and individual national champions.

“We are excited to take our Division I Women’s Golf National Championship to the Quad Cities and work with the team at Visit Quad Cities to put on an outstanding event for our student-athletes,” said Dr. Brett Monaghan, Vice President for Championships, Membership and Sports Governance, NJCAA. “Oakwood Country Club will provide a challenging championship experience for the participants, and we look forward to watching them compete for this year’s national championship.”

Oakwood Country Club, known for its championship-caliber design, mature tree-lined fairways, pristine greens, and scenic views along the Rock River Valley, offers an ideal backdrop for the nation’s best junior college squads to showcase their talent.

“Hosting the NJCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championship is a significant milestone for the Quad Cities and a reflection of the strong partnerships we’ve built within the sports tourism industry,” said Joan Kranovich, Vice President of Business Growth & Director, Sports QC. “This event not only brings top-tier collegiate competition to our region, but also creates lasting connections between student-athletes, coaches, and our community while generating economic impact for our local businesses.”

His other dream, albeit far-fetched, it to record an ace in all seven states of our distribution area. Thanks to an ace in Illinois in 2015, and one in Michigan in 2016, he has three down, four to go!
