University Ridge in Verona, WI is once again the host course of the 2021 American Family Championship.

Up to 7,500 attendees per day, facial coverings optional for vaccinated fans

Madison, Wis. (May 28, 2021) – The PGA TOUR Champions American Family Insurance Championship is increasing its maximum attendance to 7,500 per day and will follow local, state and PGA TOUR guidelines in allowing vaccinated fans to watch play without wearing facial coverings if they desire, tournament officials said today.

The American Family Insurance Championship will be held June 11-13 at University Ridge golf course in Madison. Tickets are available at amfamchampionship.com.

The changes align with recently updated COVID-19 guidelines announced by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; Dane County, where University Ridge is located; the state of Wisconsin; and the PGA TOUR.

The previously announced maximum for attendance, which includes fans, players, caddies, tournament staff and volunteers, was 5,000 per day.

“A championship that respects the health and safety of everyone remains a priority,” said Nate Pokrass, tournament director. “We appreciate our fans’ support and trust they will do their part to safely enjoy a fantastic tournament.”

Updated facial-covering guidelines for the AmFam Champ include:

• Fully vaccinated individuals will have the choice of not wearing facial coverings indoors or outdoors on University Ridge grounds. Individuals are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after their second dose in a two-dose vaccine or two weeks after a single-dose vaccine.

• Unvaccinated individuals should wear facial coverings in all indoor locations, including pro shop and clubhouse, and are strongly encouraged to wear them outdoors when they cannot be physically distant from others.

As previously announced, public bleacher seating will not be available on tournament grounds. Fans are encouraged to bring chairs and sit in ways that help ensure physical distancing throughout all 18 holes. Concessions will be offered at various locations throughout the golf course.

Tickets available for purchase
Tickets for tournament play can be purchased on a per-day basis, with special admission opportunities for military personnel, first responders and children 17 and under. To learn more, go to www.amfamchampionship.com.
