Matt and Cameron Kuchar Race to Victory with Incredible 33-under-par Score

ORLANDO, FL. – (December 21, 2025) – 25-year Bridgestone Golf staffer Matt Kuchar and his son Cameron captured a storybook victory at the PNC Championship at the Ritz-Carlton GC in Orlando, Florida on Sunday in record fashion. Putting up incredible scores of 57 on Saturday and 54 on Sunday for a final score of 33-under-par, which breaks the old tournament record by five strokes, the Kuchars dominated the field with Matt playing Bridgestone’s new and exciting VS Proto Black golf ball.

“Winning the PNC with my son Cameron is the thrill of a lifetime and I’m extremely proud of him and the way we both played this weekend,” said Matt Kuchar. “I played Bridgestone’s VS Proto Black golf ball and the combination of added distance over the previous TOUR B X as well as better short game performance definitely helped me contribute to our low scores.”

The VS Proto golf ball was developed through an intensive project with multiple material combinations and constructions. Each of the new VS Proto models (Black, Blue, Red, and Green) represents years of research and development. What began as one of the most ambitious R&D undertakings in Bridgestone’s history evolved into a multi-year, intense engineering effort.

Four years ago, Bridgestone’s R&D engineers began developing an all-new material, exploring over 20 different material formulations, while producing over 240 prototypes across multiple distinct model variations. With the new material discovery, Bridgestone’s R&D team pushed the limits of what is possible in golf ball construction and performance in the form of the new VS Proto. With overwhelmingly positive feedback from pros and amateurs alike, the VS Prototype Project is proving to be one of Bridgestone’s most significant performance breakthroughs and a powerful preview of what’s coming in 2026.

“We’re extremely happy for Matt and his son Cameron and congratulate them on what is a fun victory for the entire Kuchar family,” said Dan Murphy, President of Bridgestone Golf. “We’re also thrilled that Matt played the VS Proto golf ball. Our R&D department worked on the technology and materials for that design for years and we look forward to officially introducing it in the final form next month at the PGA Show in Orlando.”
