MacGregor Golf has announced the launch of the Toney Penna Tour Forged iron range, paying tribute to one of the most influential club designers in golf history.
Few names are as closely associated with MacGregor as Toney Penna. The visionary designer was responsible for many of the brand’s most iconic clubs, including the original MT irons—the tour-quality blades that became the benchmark for generations of golfers and helped define the modern muscle-back iron.
Penna was renowned for his uncompromising approach to club design, refusing to put his name on any club he hadn’t personally shaped, tested and approved. The new Toney Penna Tour Forged MB and CB irons honor that legacy, combining classic shaping with modern forging techniques to deliver exceptional feel, performance and craftsmanship.
Both models are precision forged from premium 1020 carbon steel, producing the soft, responsive feel that accomplished players demand while staying true to Penna’s exacting standards.
Toney Penna Tour Forged MB
Created for the traditionalist, the Muscle Back (MB) is a true player’s iron. Elegant, compact, and beautifully balanced, it delivers the precise feedback, shot-making control, and workability expected from a classic forged blade. MSRP: $699.99
Toney Penna Tour Forged CB
The Cavity Back (CB) retains the clean appearance and soft forged feel of a player’s iron while introducing additional forgiveness across the face. Designed for golfers seeking greater consistency without sacrificing workability, it delivers the confidence of a cavity-back with the performance expected from a forged club.
Key features include:
  • Precision forged from premium 1020 carbon steel for exceptional feel and feedback.
  • Player-inspired cavity-back design providing increased forgiveness while maintaining classic looks and shot control.
  • MSRP: $699.99
Custom Fit Options
Both models can be customized through the MacGregor Golf website with a wide selection of premium aftermarket shafts available in Senior, Regular, Stiff and Extra Stiff flexes. Golfers can also specify shaft lengths from standard through ±0.5″, ±1″, ±1.5″, or ±2″, while loft and lie angles can be adjusted by ±1° or ±2°, creating a set tailored to individual swing characteristics and playing preferences.
The new Toney Penna Tour Forged range joins MacGregor’s complete lineup of woods, hybrids, wedges, putters, golf bags, and accessories, continuing the brand’s long tradition of producing performance equipment inspired by one of golf’s richest legacies.

His other dream, albeit far-fetched, it to record an ace in all seven states of our distribution area. Thanks to an ace in Illinois in 2015, and one in Michigan in 2016, he has three down, four to go!
