Western Golf Association launches ‘Take a Caddie’ campaign
GLENVIEW, Illinois — The Western Golf Association has launched “Take a Caddie,” a multi-year awareness campaign aimed at educating golfers about the impact of supporting youth caddie programs.
The campaign kicked off with the recent premiere of the Take a Caddie PSA featuring golf content creators Roger Steele, Bradford Wilson and Hannah Aslesen alongside a trio of Evans Scholars caddies.
In its first year, “Take a Caddie” will feature social and digital media content headlined by special collaborations with partners including No Laying Up and The Golfers Journal, as well as golf content creators Tisha Alyn, Matt Cardis (Golf in Your State) and Jain Golf. The campaign also will feature testimonials from golfers across the WGA community about why they support youth caddie programs and why it’s important for others to do the same.
The campaign will work in tandem with ongoing efforts by the WGA to create more youth caddie programs at country clubs and public courses, particularly in areas that have not traditionally had youth caddies. Campaign messaging will highlight the benefits to golfers of supporting youth caddie programs, including the opportunity to help young men and women in their communities qualify for the life-changing Evans Scholarship.
One of golf’s favorite charities and the nation’s largest scholarship program for caddies, the Evans Scholars Foundation was founded in 1930 and is overseen by the WGA.
“The ‘Take a Caddie’ campaign is an exciting opportunity to introduce youth caddying to new audiences,” said John Kaczkowski, President & CEO of the Western Golf Association and Evans Scholars Foundation. “Through our content and special collaborations with leading voices in the golf world, we believe this campaign will inspire more golfers to take a caddie and transform the lives of young men and women in communities nationwide.”
The WGA currently supports more than 300 youth caddie programs nationwide.
