(Madison, Wis.) (Oct. 20, 2016) — Volunteer registration for the second annual PGA TOUR Champions American Family Insurance Championship is open and the public is invited to sign-up to participate. Those interested can learn about the numerous volunteer opportunities and sign-up at the volunteer page of AmFamChampionship.com (www.AmFamChampionship.com). The tournament and accompanying events will take place June 19 – 25, 2017 at University Ridge Golf Course in Madison, Wisconsin. Steve Stricker, 12-time PGA Tour winner and the 2016 event host, becomes eligible for the PGA TOUR Champions in February 2017 when he turns 50, and will be a player/host in the 2017 tournament. All proceeds from the championship will be donated to the Steve Stricker American Family Insurance Foundation. A portion of those proceeds will be earmarked for the American Family Children’s Hospital, with the remainder donated to other state-wide charities determined after the championship. Recipients of the proceeds from this year’s inaugural championship will be announced on Dec. 12.

“We sincerely appreciate the 1,200 volunteers who assisted with the tournament in 2016. We have hundreds of volunteer spots to fill again in 2017 and we encourage those interested to not delay in signing up,” said Nate Pokrass, tournament director. “We expect the available spots to fill up quickly, due to the popularity and success of this year’s event.” Volunteers pay a $75 registration fee, with proceeds donated to the Steve Stricker American Family Insurance Foundation. Included with the registration fee, all volunteers will receive a tournament shirt, hat, jacket, commemorative pin, meals during the shift, parking, and tournament tickets.
