VOKEY WEDGEWORKS LAUNCHES A+ GRIND LOB WEDGES

Mid-bounce lob wedge grind is available immediately in 58- and 60-degree models on WedgeWorks

CARLSBAD, Calif. (July 9, 2024) – The new Vokey Design WedgeWorks A+ Grind – a mid-bounce lob wedge that produces a smooth, fast feel through the turf – is now available on Vokey.com. The wedge features a wide, contoured sole and is offered in 58- and 60-degree lofts.

The A+ Grind is closely related to the Vokey WedgeWorks A Grind. The A Grind was born out of the collaboration between Vokey Tour Representative Aaron Dill and U.S. Open champion Geoff Ogilvy, who was looking for a wedge that moved through firm turf faster than his L Grind. Dill took Ogilvy’s feedback and removed the ribbon on the L grind, resulting in a smoothed-out sole that cut through the ground with less resistance.

The A+ Grind was created with similar modifications for players that preferred the feel of the A Grind sole but needed more sole width and bounce due to their delivery. Dill would smooth out the grind lines of an M Grind rather than the L Grind that Ogilvy gamed.

“On Tour over the years, we started seeing some loyal M Grind players who were finding that sole to be a little too bouncy for their liking,” said Dill. “A+ comes from taking their gamer M Grind and removing the ribbon from the center of the sole.  Those players found the leading edge of the A+ sat a bit lower, and the wedge moved faster through the ground. That helped to unlock a bit more versatility for some based on how they deliver the club to the ball.”

The A+ Grind is an option for players who favor a smooth, fast-feeling wedge and play with a neutral angle of attack in a variety of conditions.

The new WedgeWorks A+ Grind is now available in 58-degree and 60-degree lofts (RH only) and a Raw finish.

A+ GRIND ON TOUR

At the inception of all Vokey Design wedge grinds is the collaboration of Master Craftsman Bob Vokey and Vokey Tour Rep Aaron Dill with the best wedge players in the world. The result is a matrix of grinds designed to service every type of player.

Vokey Design wedges account for more than half of all gap, sand and lob wedges played on the PGA TOUR this year. Players trusting Vokey Design wedges have won 20 events to date on the PGA TOUR in 2024.

Titleist Brand Ambassador Davis Riley recently used his WedgeWorks 60A+ lob wedge in winning the Charles Schwab Challenge for his first individual PGA TOUR title.

In addition to Riley, the A+ Grind is also used by the 2013 Masters champion and the 2015 PGA Championship winner.

SM10 TECHNOLOGY

• High and forward center of gravity progression – The CG is moved up and forward for SM10 lofts of 54-62 degrees, which provides lower trajectory and a squarer face at impact. The higher CG provides lower trajectory with more spin and greenside control, and moving the CG forward enables the face to square more easily at impact, resulting in a tighter dispersion.

• Patented spin milled process for maximum spin – Every SM10 groove is cut to the edge to maximize spin. Each Vokey wedge is 100% inspected for utmost quality and performance.

ADVANCED PERSONALIZATION AND CUSTOM OPTIONS

Vokey Design SM10 wedges feature a modern, clean look, which provides a canvas for customization. The WedgeWorks custom options include:

• Eight unique toe engravings

• Stamping options | 10-character Straight/Freestyle stamping; 15 characters around the toe; and two lines of 10 characters each

• Custom paint-filled | Loft and Grind markings and BV Wings logo

• SM10 wedges can also be custom ordered with an industry-leading selection of shafts, grips, shaft bands and ferrules. For a complete list of options, visit www.Vokey.com.
