Traveling to Erin Hills for the U.S. Women’s Open? Make sure to check out Potawatomi Casino Hotel in Milwaukee

Some of the best female golfers in the world will descend southeast Wisconsin the last weekend of May for the U.S. Women’s Open at historic Erin Hills Golf Course.

Along with those golfers will come fans from across the county to see the golfers and the course in Erin, Wisconsin. Many of those fans will travel to, and stay in Milwaukee, just about 45 minutes from Erin Hills.

Potawatomi Casino Hotel in Milwaukee is one of the most-visited attractions in Milwaukee every year. It is the only place in the area with casino gaming, and the 19-floor, two-tower hotel provides guests with a great lodging option just minutes from downtown and American Family Field, home of the Milwaukee Brewers. The 500-room hotel is the second-largest in Milwaukee.

“We are very excited to welcome golf fans to town for the U.S. Women’s Open to Potawatomi Casino Hotel,” said Dominic Ortiz, CEO and General Manager of the property. “Whether you stay at our hotel, stop in for a great meal or take a chance on our state-of-the art gaming floor, we hope fans get to enjoy our amenities.”

Potawatomi Casino Hotel recently underwent a two-year, $190 Million renovation project which finished up last fall. Part of the project is the new Potawatomi Sportsbook. The Las-Vegas style Sportsbook is the first of its kind in Wisconsin and has quickly become the hot spot for sports gaming.

Potawatomi Sportsbook is a sports fan’s paradise – with seating for two hundred and featuring a 2,000-square foot screen in addition to more than a dozen 80-inch flatscreen televisions so fans won’t miss a minute of the action. As the only place in the area where sports betting is allowed, fans have flocked to Potawatomi to take advantage of the Sportsbook and the 90 self-serve kiosks where fans can place a bet without going to a betting window.

The Sportsbook will have a special offer for fans wanting to place a wager on the U.S. Women’s Open. Bettors can receive a special-edition golf visor and a U.S. Women’s Open-themed sleeve of golf balls for bets placed during the tournament while supplies last. The tournament will also have a prime spot on the big screen for fans who want to catch the action but aren’t going to Erin Hills.

Part of Potawatomi’s renovation project included a new vision for food and beverage options on the property. Potawatomi has seven restaurants, including the Sportsbook kitchen, with food choices for every palate:

  • Dream Dance Steakhouse offers fine dining with a menu featuring steaks and seafood along with an extensive wine list and cocktail bar. It’s a good option for special occasions or everyday indulgence.
  • Rock & Brews is a one-of-a-kind experience in this area. The restaurant is a partnership with Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons of the legendary rock group KISS. Guests will find music memorabilia throughout the restaurant and tables decorated with some of the greatest album covers of all-time. Rock & Brews also features a stage with live music on Friday and Saturday nights.
  • RuYi Asian Cuisine is a favorite of regular guests and first-timers. You can get a variety of authentic Asian dishes from classics such as Fried Rice and Pad Thai to a vast menu of sushi options made fresh to order.
  • Canal Street Café offers a breakfast and lunch menu. Located in the lobby of the Hotel, Canal Street also has a breakfast buffet on Sunday mornings.
  • The Potawatomi Marketplace is a new addition to the property. At the marketplace guests can find a variety of options including a fantastic burger, Mexican cuisine, pizza, and Ramen. There is also a spot for sweet treats called “Mini and Wow” featuring ice cream and a variety of pastries made in-house.
  • Canal Street Coffee Company is also new to the property and offers a wide variety of coffee drinks and pastries. The property partners with a local coffee company for its brew, and all of the delicious breakfast treats are made on-property every day by Potawatomi’s pastry team.

Golf fans will also find their win is waiting on the Potawatomi Casino Hotel gaming floor. Potawatomi features more than two-thousand of the latest slot machines. Table games options include Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, Baccarat and Pai Gow Poker. Potawatomi also has a bingo hall and a brand new 14-table Poker room for those who want to play a few hands of Texas Hold’em or Omaha.
