43rd Annual Play Golf Myrtle Beach World Amateur Opens to Public March 18; Early Participants Eligible for $25,000 in Prizes

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Play Golf Myrtle Beach today announced that registration is open, inviting golfers from around the world to secure their spot in the 43rd annual Play Golf Myrtle Beach World Amateur Handicap Championship. The event is expected to attract 3,000 participants to the Golf Capital of the World™ for a week of world-class fun and camaraderie on and off the golf course.

The 72-hole tournament will take place from Aug. 31 – Sept. 4, 2026, and will be contested across more than 50 of the Grand Strand’s premier golf courses. The event features 12 divisions and over 60 competitive flights, ensuring players of all skill levels, ages, and genders compete on a level playing field through a thoughtfully managed and verified handicap system.

“The World Am is more than a tournament, it’s a one-of-a-kind golf experience at the intersection of competition, community and connection that brings the global golf community together in one destination,” said Kyle Oland, director of marketing for Golf Tourism Solutions. “From the intensity of the competition to the nightly celebrations at the 19th Hole, players are invited to come as they are and leave a legend.”

Participants who register by March 31 will be eligible for an early commitment drawing featuring over $25,000 in prizes, including premium golf gear and travel packages. The $649 early entry fee includes four rounds of tournament play on championship courses, a participant gift bag valued at nearly $300, and nightly admission to the “World’s Largest 19th Hole” for the participant and one guest. The early entry period ends on April 15.

Held at the 120,000-square-foot Myrtle Beach Convention Center, the World’s Largest 19th Hole serves as the tournament’s social heartbeat. It features open bars, food from the area’s top restaurants, live entertainment, bands and an expansive golf exposition for golf fans to explore. St. Andre, one of the internet’s most popular golf-centric creator groups, returns to host the nightly 19th Hole party. Additional special guests already slated to attend include South Carolina natives George and Wesley Bryan from The Bryan Bros.

The tournament concludes Friday, Sept. 4, when flight winners compete in the Championship Round at Grande Dunes Resort Course for the title of World Amateur Champion.

The tournament field is limited to the first 3,000 golfers who register. As one of the largest events in amateur golf, spots are expected to fill quickly. Golfers are encouraged to register early to secure a place in the tournament.
