As an avid golfer I have always been grateful that the Holiday season comes within our playing “down time” in the Midwest. Sure you might have the occasional warm weather trip planned, but the holiday season makes it alright to put golf back in the forefront for a few weeks by perusing all the printed and internet gift ideas. So with great comfort and joy, Midwest Golfing Magazine humbly presents our annual Holiday Gift Guide.
Mizuno JPX-900 Iron Series
For the first time in its illustrious 111 year history, Mizuno Golf has released a three-tier family of irons under the JPX name, ensuring that golfers of all skill levels can play the same technology the world’s best players rely on. The new JPX900 family of clubs are as stunningly stylish as they are scintillating to strike. The 2016-17 line consists of The JPX900 Tour, JPX900 Forged and JPX900 Hot Metal irons. What MGM loves about this collection is that each iron series utilizes a different metal composition, marrying it with the best technology on the market to deliver distance, control, and forgiveness. All members of the JPX900 family are customizable through Mizuno’s Performance Fitting System (PFS) at nationwide retailers including Golf Galaxy. TaylorMade M2 Driver
For the past decade TaylorMade Golf has been the leader in worldwide driver sales and most drivers played on all professional tours combined. Their 2016 model, the M2, only adds to their lore as it has consistently been voted Best Driver of the Year by multiple media outlets. The M2 features a carbon crown composite head which saves 25 grams of weight that is then pushed lower and deeper for faster ball speeds and ridiculous forgiveness. The M2 retails for $399.99 and incredibly offers 30 no extra charge shafts to specifically fit your game! The M2 is also highlighted by a loft sleeve that adjusts the driver 2* up or down from the stated loft which in turn adjusts the face angle to elicit a draw or fade. Tour Edge Bazooka 460 Black Boxed Set
Let’s face it, sometimes is just doesn’t make financial sense to spend nearly $2,000 on a complete set of clubs. For those to want to buy a great set of clubs at an exceptional price, MGM recommends the Bazooka 460 Black boxed set from Tour Edge Golf based out of Batavia, IL. For $599.99 golfers will receive 11 graphite-shafted clubs ($499.99 in steel with a carry bag), a high MIO putter, six matching head covers, and a deluxe stand bag. The highlight of the set has to be the irons (6-SW), as they perform like ones double the price. Not far behind are the 4 and 5 hybrids, which are as long and straight as a freight train through Kansas. Tour Edge packaged sets can be found at most major Midwestern golf retail shops or online at www.touredge.com.
Miura K-Grind Wedges
When it comes to golf, discerning players are drawn to Miura, The Rolls Royce of forging and design. Their newest creation adds to the success of the K-Grind Wedge series by offering more loft options. The wedge with the distinctive fluted sole has reinvigorated thousands of short games and provided confident, high-spin exits from countless bunkers. But until now, it had only been available in 56 degrees of loft. New for this fall, 52 and 60 degree wedges compliment the original sand wedge. The K-Grind Wedge’s suggested retail price starts at $275 per club, with some custom shaft options costing more. They’re available now, so please log on to www.miuragolf.com to find an authorized Miura dealer/fitter for details.

Cleveland RTX-3 Wedges
If Cleveland Golf has its way, 2017 will be known as the “Year of the Wedge”. In a bold statement, Cleveland engineers have publicly stated that wedge construction since the dawn of time has been flawed by design. Thanks to their patent-pending Feel Balancing technology the RTX-3’s center of gravity has been moved closer to the center of the wedge face – the impact zone – to decrease vibration and maximize head stability at impact. By adding a microcavity inside the hosel and shortening the hosel, nine grams of mass are optimally redistributed in the head for a more centered CG location. The RTX-3 collection features three distinctive styles (Blade, Cavity Back, and Women’s Cavity Back) plus a myriad of bounce, grind, and lofts to accommodate all short game needs. Callaway Odyssey Milled Collection RXS Putters
Callaway’s new Milled Collection RXS Putter line is short for “Roll and Sound Experiment” which makes sense as draining putts on the golf course can be likened to making sweet music. Callaway staffer Phil Mickelson has been proactive in offering feedback, telling Callaway engineers that when he hits a 5-foot putt, he wants it to look, feel and sound like a 5-foot putt. By engineering their sound chamber technology into these putters, the RXS line delivers a crisp sound at impact, which ensures great feedback that matches up perfectly with the speed and roll off the face. The RXS collection comes in three models, their best-selling #7 shape, a progressive V-Line Fang mallet, and the #001, a new take on their classic #1 shape. SeeMore Corona Del Mar x4 Putter
Most golf fans remember the horrific seven-putt Ernie Els endured on the first hole of the 2016 Masters. But what you might not know is “The Big Easy” surged to number one in strokes gained putting on the PGA TOUR after putting a SeeMore Putter in his bag. One of SeeMore’s most popular 2016 models is the Corona Del Mar x4, featuring SeeMore’s new RST2 technology, which offers the key benefits of SeeMore’s original RifleScope Technology (RST) in a classic hosel style blade. By placing a red dot on the shaft above the hosel, the golfer is able to set up the putter perfectly each and every time in relation to the intended target line.
