SENECA, Ore. – Silvies Valley Ranch is welcoming guests to experience all the quiet, natural beauty that eastern Oregon has to offer this winter.
The eco-resort and 150,000-acre cattle ranch, known for its world-class golf in the heart of the western frontier, is offering winter experiences with unparalleled hospitality for guests to enjoy while the ranch is blanketed by snow:
● Cool Golf — Players traverse the snowy terrain on nine fun holes using a short iron and a tennis ball, aiming for the pin at the end of the short fairway.
● Cross Country Skiing — Skiers glide through untouched snowfields on more than 20 miles of accessible trails and are treated to breathtaking views and vistas. They can then enjoy a warm drink in their private hot tub. Lessons are available for novice skiers as well as rental equipment.
● Sleigh Rides — Riders can enjoy getting to know the Clydesdales, Magic and Oz, who pull the sleigh through the working ranch.
● Spa Services – Guests may choose from a full suite of spa services at the Rocking Heart Spa ranging from facials and massages to the more active lap pool and climbing wall.
● Ice Fishing — Guests venture to either Otter or Elk Lake for a fresh catch-and-release of the day. After photos with their lake trout or perch, they can enjoy the short walk to warm back up at the fire ring or the indoor bar.
“Our guests can get a bit of everything when they come out to the ranch,” said Silvies’ owner & veterinarian Dr. Scott Campbell. “Fun and relaxing, inside or outside, we are going to find a way to make it happen. We’re fortunate to have such a beautiful ranch that makes it easy to create personalized, memorable experiences this winter and all year long.”
Silvies is also offering the following cozier experiences during the winter months:
● Spirit tastings from a world-class selection of 50 whiskey and premium bourbons and a collection of more than 110 scotches.
● Indulging in culinary delicacies including loin of chevon and ranch-to-table steak. The ranch also organizes sourdough baking classes that use a century-old Campbell family starter, paying homage to the western tradition.
● Stargazing and taking in the Milky Way while snuggling around the fire.
Couples looking for a romantic getaway can also enjoy Silvies’ Couple’s Quiet & Relaxation Package, which includes a two-night stay with homestead inspired dinners for two, access to the spa, sauna and hot tub, and sleigh rides, cross-country skiing, sledding, and putt-putt golf. Silvies Valley Ranch, founded in 1883, is both an ecologically sustainable Western cattle ranch and world renowed guest resort with abundant herds of healthy wildlife, cattle and goats. In many ways, it sets the standard for sustainable ranching and environmental practices, in the high desert, with all cuisine centered around the ranches’ own organic, grass-fed beef & chevon (goat), and the wonderful eye of Executive Chef Kolka. Keeping with its sustainability ethic, the clubhouse and all member owned cabins are completely off the grid, with stand-alone solar and gray water systems, insect control from the residents of over 5,000 bird and bat houses and a predominantly gravity-powered irrigation system. Made up of 150,000 acres of deeded and leased forest lands in and surrounding Silvies Valley, Oregon, the Ranch and Retreat is home to countless wildlife species, mountain meadows, Ponderosa Pine forest, the Silvies River, and 12 other creeks and streams. The whole experience is “Simply Amazing – come and see!
