(Madison, Wis.) (March 6, 2017) — The 2017 PGA TOUR Champions American Family Insurance Championship, to be held June 23-25 in Madison, Wisconsin, is adding a new team member in its second year to help raise additional funds for charity.

Multi-platinum and GRAMMY-award winning country artist Darius Rucker will help kick-off a weekend of competitive golf with a concert at Breese Stevens Field in Madison on Friday, June 23. Tickets for the event officially go on sale on Friday, March 10. Opening artists will be announced at a later date.

All proceeds from the concert will be donated to the Steve Stricker American Family Insurance Foundation for distribution to American Family Children’s Hospital and other charities impacting families and children in Wisconsin. The inaugural tournament in 2016 raised nearly $1.1 million for charity – one of the highest totals ever for a first-year PGA TOUR Champions event.

“I’m really looking forward to being a part of the AmFam Championship this year. It’s hard to beat Madison in the middle of summer,” said Rucker. “It’s going to be a great time and hopefully raise a lot of money for some worthy causes along the way.”

“I am so excited to have my friend Darius be a part of tournament week,” said tournament host Steve Stricker. “His concert on Friday night will be a real treat for the city of Madison. I can’t thank Darius enough for helping us make an impact with our Foundation.”
