Easy-to-launch Bridgestone golf ball is designed to make the game more fun for junior players and inspire them through First Tee’s character-building messages

COVINGTON, Ga. – (April 29, 2025) – Bridgestone Golf, the #1 Ball-Fitter in Golf, today announced the new ELECTRON golf ball, a new model designed specifically for junior players. Developed in partnership with First Tee, which offers youth golf programs, the ball features First Tee-inspired messaging and will be available exclusively at DICK’S Sporting Goods and Golf Galaxy.

“The new ELECTRON is an entirely new product for Bridgestone,” said Dan Murphy, President, Bridgestone Golf. “It’s designed to help younger players launch the ball more easily and have more fun playing golf. Bridgestone pioneered ball fitting and we’re proud to have used our data to develop the ELECTRON specifically to meet the needs of junior players. It’s a privilege to partner with First Tee and DICK’S on this initiative and we’re looking forward to this new golf ball helping juniors play better.”

Featuring a two-piece design and low-compression core, the ELECTRON is designed to provide easy launch and maximum distance for moderate speed swingers as well as a soft feel for improved short game performance. And true to Bridgestone’s dedication to innovation in all areas of design, including aerodynamics, the ELECTRON also features a shallow dimple design to help promote faster launch and higher peak trajectory.

“First Tee is dedicated to helping kids build character and develop life skills through golf,” said First Tee CEO Greg McLaughlin. “Partnerships like this create great opportunities to build awareness for First Tee’s mission and further engage kids and teens in the sport. We are grateful to Bridgestone and DICK’S Sporting Goods for this impactful opportunity.”

Part of the genesis for the design of the new ELECTRON is the massive boom in popularity of golf enjoyed over the last few years, which continues to carry over in the junior market. In fact, since 2019, youth participation is up approximately 48%, and in 2024 alone, the junior market grew another 6%. This “junior boom,” has allowed Bridgestone to ball fit a substantial number of younger players, providing the data necessary to design the ELECTRON.

“We believe in the power of sports to change lives,” said David Progar, Senior Vice President of Golf and Hardlines Merchandising at DICK’S Sporting Goods. “With this partnership with Bridgestone and First Tee, we’ll be able to offer junior players a new experience as they learn the game of golf and hopefully build a love for it over a lifetime.”

The new ELECTRON comes standard with four different facemark colors per dozen and will be available exclusively at DICK’S Sporting Good and Golf Galaxy on April 29th and will feature a street price of $21.99 per dozen. For help selecting which premium Bridgestone model is the right ball for them, consumers should try Bridgestone’s Golf Ball Selection Guide.
