Midwest Golfing Magazine turns sweet 16 in 2018 and with it begins our expansion into our 8th Midwest State – Missouri. The “Show Me State” has so much amazing golf to offer that I was left speechless after a trip to the Branson area in late October. Anyone who knows me understands how difficult it is to leave me speechless.

Senior Editor Glen Turk has also been to Missouri numerous times and covers the state from stem to stern in his latest State of The Game feature – I have a good feeling you’ll like what you see and read!

Looking for another amazing destination a little farther south? Our lead staff writer Matt Tevsh recommends heading to the Yellowhammer State and experiencing the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail and its 23 courses and 468 magnificent holes.

Our staff is also proud to highlight two standouts in the Badger State – Horseshoe Bay Golf Club in Door County, Wisconsin and Trappers Turn in Wisconsin Dells. The 27 hole championship layout along with the Kalahari Resort will once again host the prestigious 10th annual Andy North & Friends charity event June 3rd & 4th. Just over 1 million dollars was raised last year to benefit the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center – a record for the event!

Staying in the Midwest, we are honored to once again partner with BOYNE Golf in northern Michigan and French Lick Resort in French Lick, Indiana. The childhood home of Larry Bird is now home to the finest golf destination in the Hoosier State!

Make sure to stop by a Midwest Golf Show near you, say hi, and pick up our latest issue – I think it will get you excited for the 2018 golf season!

Glen Turk is a Wisconsin native who has been the Senior Writer/Editor of Midwest Golfing Magazine since 2006. Besides being an avid golfer, Glen enjoys traveling, music, and cheering on the finest professional sports team of all-time, the Green Bay Packers. Glen’s ultimate golf goal is to play in all fifty states and currently he is more than half way there. His other dream, albeit far-fetched, it to record an ace in all seven states of our distribution area. Thanks to an ace in Illinois in 2015, and one in Michigan in 2016, he has three down, four to go!
