Before I summarize the stories that make up our 2017 Fall Issue, I would like to thank our readers and partners for partaking in the 7th Annual RoyBoy’s Evil Twin Golfing Outing. The event was held on August 27th at Cherokee CC in Madison and honored my brother and MGM co-founder Jeff Royle, who passed away unexpectedly this past January. There are too many companies and courses to thank for their donations, but your kindness did not go unnoticed!

Fall has always been my favorite time to play and MGM has you covered when it comes to the Midwest and nationwide golf destinations. We begin with an excellent feature by Senior Writer Glen Turk on the incomparable Wolf Creek in Mesquite, Nevada.

MGM stays west of the Mississippi for a feature on all the outstanding golf and leisure activities found in Reno/Tahoe, Nevada. The three casino paradise of Silverado, Eldorado, and Circus Circus in downtown Reno is your ideal basecamp when in the area.

We then head to Florida’s east coast for a great story on Jonathan’s Landing in Jupiter by new contributor Mike May. Next, we’ll re-introduce you to the great state of Mississippi and Michigan’s Southwestern corridor including Harbor Shores and the newly-minted Stoatin Brae at Gull Lake View Golf Club and Resort.

Plus, a Fall Issue wouldn’t be complete without our annual Holiday Gift Guide, Chip Shots, Andy Podolak’s Pro Page, and Glen Turk’s zany Editor’s Choice Awards, which recap our staff’s year in golf!

Until Next Time, Make More Birdies,

Jay Royle, Publisher

About Author

Glen Turk is a Wisconsin native who has been the Senior Writer/Editor of Midwest Golfing Magazine since 2006. Besides being an avid golfer, Glen enjoys traveling, music, and cheering on the finest professional sports team of all-time, the Green Bay Packers. Glen’s ultimate golf goal is to play in all fifty states and currently he is more than half way there. His other dream, albeit far-fetched, it to record an ace in all seven states of our distribution area. Thanks to an ace in Illinois in 2015, and one in Michigan in 2016, he has three down, four to go!
